A major event of the cycling season, the Giro is a three-week stage race held in May in Italy, with a route that changes every year. Occasionally, stages take place in neighboring countries.
RCS Sport organizes the IAAF Milan City Marathon, the Fisherman's Friend Strongman Run in Italy, The Color Run and the Gran Fondo Giro d'Italia. The leader wears a pink jersey, echoing the color of the paper used by the Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 106th edition of the Giro d'Italia, held from May 4 to 26, 2026, starts from Abruzzo for the second time in its history, after its first edition there in 2001.
How many stages are there in the Giro?
The race starts from the town of Fossacesia in Italy and finishes in Rome. The route includes a total of 21 stages covering a total distance of 3,448.6 km.
Who has won the Tour of Italy the most times?
Three riders became the near-unbeatable leaders of the race, something rarely seen today, each winning it five times. Between 1925 and 1933, Italy's Alfredo Binda won the race five times, while between 1940 and 1953, Fausto Coppi did the same. Years later, Belgium's Eddy Merckx matched the first two with five more titles between 1968 and 1974.
