September 13, 1914: In Meurthe-et-Moselle, the Battle of the Grand Couronné ends in victory for the troops of the French 2nd Army under Édouard de Castelnau.
September 13, 1923: Miguel Primo de Rivera, then Captain General of Catalonia, rises up against the Spanish government and launches a coup d'état to "liberate Spain from a corrupt political system that had run its course." He would resign on January 28, 1930.
September 13, 1993: In Washington, the Israeli-Palestinian peace process takes a step forward with the signing of the Oslo Accords. This declaration of principles, signed between Yitzhak Rabin and Yasser Arafat in the presence of Bill Clinton, establishes a framework for negotiations between the two states.
