A gathering for beer lovers
Every year, the Beer Weekend brings together enthusiasts and connoisseurs on Brussels' Grand-Place, an iconic site of Belgian heritage. This event celebrates the country's brewing tradition, recognised by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage. Over three days, breweries, large and small, present their creations in a festive, convivial atmosphere.
A wide variety of beers to discover
Visitors get to sample a wide range of beers: blondes, browns, ambers, as well as Belgian specialities such as lambics, gueuzes and krieks. Brewers are often on hand to explain their methods and share their passion, offering a unique experience for enthusiasts.
An event celebrated across Belgium
While the Grand-Place in Brussels remains the heart of the event, other towns also celebrate Belgian beer. Among them, Middelkerke, which organises activities around local beers, and fans of lambic beers will find plenty to enjoy with the festivities organised by the Lambikstoempers, a brotherhood dedicated to the traditional beers of the Senne valley.
Details of the 2025 edition
The Beer Weekend is usually held in early September. In 2026, it is scheduled for 5 to 7 September. The event draws between 50,000 and 60,000 visitors each year, coming from Belgium and beyond to discover the richness of the national brewing heritage.
Bruges and Antwerp, with their iconic breweries, also join in the celebrations with their own events, adding to the festive atmosphere found across the whole country.
