Las Fallas of Valencia in 2026

15 to 19 March 2026, in Valencia (Spain)

The month of March is traditionally tied to the Fallas festivities in the Valencia region. While the Fallas of Valencia are certainly the most famous, you won't regret taking a week's holiday in March in Denia or Javea, making the most of these popular festivities as well as the magnificent beaches of the Costa Blanca.

During the Fallas you'll see mascletà firecracker displays as well as huge sculptures made from ceramic-like materials, among other things. You can wander the streets and be captivated by the enormous fallas, giant figures built from composite materials by genuine artists. These creations are often satires of current events, particularly politics. They can be found all over the city. Alongside the largest compositions there are also smaller ones called ninots, closer to "human" scale.

Every day at 2:30pm you can also watch the mascletàs, pyrotechnic shows that could be compared to fireworks, but held during the day. These are extremely powerful and produce a blast audible from far across the city. If you're sensitive to noise, it's best to steer clear.

During your stay you'll also find plenty of street vendors selling doughnuts and churros. Don't be surprised to see young women, called falleras, strolling around in traditional dress. Finally, on the last days of the Fallas, all the figures, except for one ninot chosen as the most beautiful, are burned.
