The modernist World of... The Kiasma Museum of Modern Art in Helsinki, Finland is hosting an exhibition of works by Julian Schnabel who just missed out on an Oscar for the movie The Divine Bell and the Butterfly. For fans of the modernist city, this show is a definite welcome addition and worthy of a visit.

Rubberheart (Directed By Brian Crano) Indie Films The Washington, DC Independent Film Festival celebrates the vision, the creativity and the highest level of independent filmmaking. This is the tenth year that organizers have provided an event which permits the public to immerse themselves in what is the culture of independent film. Films, discussions with filmmakers and seminars fill the 11-day festival. And it is also the second year that film and music are brought together via a companion music festival, Independent musicians perform side by side with celluloid at George Washington University's Jack Morton Auditorium.
